“The dual substance of Christ – the yearning, so human, so superhuman, of man to attain God… has always been deep inscrutable mystery to me. My principle anguish and source of all my joys and sorrows from my youth onward has been the incessant merciless battle between the spirit and the flesh… and my soul is the arena where these two armies have clashed and met.” Nikos Kazantzakis

Art is part of what makes us who we are.

Unlike Hitler, Goring and the other Nazi war criminals, the Bush, Chaney gang had no appreciation of art. Instead of organizing military officials to plunder and rob the museums of Bagdad they just left the doors wide open for petty thieves to loot and ravage an ancient history. Before we entered WW2 the president set up a military division of art and museum experts to be at the vanguard of our forces designated to look for protect and preserve art.
